After eight years of rumors, Spotify is actually rolling out lossless playback to its customer base.

All premium subscribers are going to get it over the next two months.

No longer is Spotify high-fi a thing, which is what they originally called it. The problem was

in the intervening eight years, all of their competitors just gave it away for free. So I think

their opportunity of trying to charge people for it isn't going to work. I'm going to read something from The Verge, from Terrence O'Brien at the Verge.

Spotify's lost this option tops out at 24-bit, 44.1 kHz flak, Apple Music Title, and Kuboboos.
