Today's mail bag comes to us from Laura. I had looked forward to the paper

organizing retreat for weeks and I must say it was one of the highlights of my

summer. I came with eight bankers boxes, tubs, the 18 gallon ones, filled with

papers, some going all the way back to my husband's preschool years. I completed

the big sort for seven of the eight containers and I was able to get rid of 40 to 50 percent of the paper.

My husband definitely noticed that the boxes were lighter when I got home.

This has been a project I've wanted to do for several years but

lacked the chunk of time, accountability, and constructive process to make it a

priority. I knew what everything was and how to get to it, but was overwhelmed by the thought of dealing with it all.

The retreat was well worth the investment to provide what I needed to overcome my activation energy barrier and get this job started.

I also participated in education camp the week leading up to the paper organizing retreat.

So the whole week involved sorting, creating slash pocket labels, and feeling like I was finally starting to get on top of things.

Over this summer, I have been mentally and emotionally processing a major career change that happened several years ago. Education camp and the retreat were both important

in helping me to see my growth and let go of some parts of my past. While this was unexpected and difficult, I know it was significant and necessary for my

transformation. As school begins, I am excited to see how my progress continues and I am hoping that the

systems and routines I have established this summer

will lead to greater joy and peace as I continue to discover what I am uniquely created to do.
