and become more. Here is the topic. Be a coach, not a critic, the expression of disapproval

of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes.

That's how criticism is defined.

Here's how coaching is defined.

A process designed to improve performance.

So with people you're trying to help, do you simply express disapproval and itemize your

grievances or give feedback and or tools to improve their behavior. And if you do coach,

do you offer the corrective feedback directly, respectfully, specifically, and calmly,

so that you don't distract the person with your delivery in such a way that the message never lands.

Now, granted, a corrective suggestion isn't necessary for every critical observation you make or to everyone you make it to.

But when it comes to helping someone improve the behavior that you're trying to impact and grow, someone that you may be training, coaching or mentoring, then being a coach and not a critic is the key.
