Welcome to the Happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. I think when many of us think about

0:08.0

happiness, we think about being on the beach, perhaps in Hawaii, sitting comfortably, watching the

0:15.9

waves, and just soaking up the beautiful nature all around us. That's a good, stress-free, beautiful day.

0:24.6

But the truth is, life happens, and our days aren't like that, often, most of the time.

0:31.7

We wake up in the morning, we have to hurry up and get to work, and then on the way to work,

0:36.3

we have to deal with rude drivers and people that just annoy us. And then on the way to work, we have to deal with rude drivers

0:37.9

and people that just annoy us. And then when we're at work, we think about, well, our paycheck

cover all our expenses this week. Or if we're a student, we may be concerned about that upcoming

1:38.2

This is where we bounce back from stress, but we're still unchanged. And the third one is called anti-fragile. And this is where, when we're under stress, we're under stress, but we're still unchanged. And the third one is called anti-fragile. And this is where,

1:47.0

when we're under stress, we get stronger and we improve as a human being. This concept was first

1:53.5

taught and elaborated by Dr. Talib. I think if you take a moment and think about yourself

1:59.0

or other people in the world, there's

2:01.6

a real effort, a lot of energy is put towards making our lives comfortable.

2:07.6

Most of us don't like stress. Most of us do a lot of things to avoid stress.

2:13.6

We may come home after a long day and have a couple glasses of wine to get rid of that stress.
