Now, here is the topic ignorance versus stupidity. Hmm. It's common to do something foolish or to not do

something wise and to blame ignorance. We say,

ah, it was just an ignorant thing to do. Well, maybe, but maybe not. Ignorance is defined as

lacking information, training, or knowledge. So, if you erred because you didn't know any better,

that may be attributed to ignorance. Now, stupid is defined as lacking common sense or intelligence.

Intelligence is defined as the ability to acquire and apply, that's the big one, skills or knowledge.

Thus, if you know better, but you still do the wrong thing. You're not acting out of ignorance.

It was simply a stupid thing to do.

Now, if you know better and don't act upon that knowledge, when it will benefit you, and that happens often, that lacks both common sense and intelligence and can also be considered as stupid.

So we all do stupid things from time to time, but to grow, we need to adjust behaviors, become more intelligent, use common sense, and not repeat those stupid things.
