Hey everybody, we got a great one today, you know, for a change.

Dahlia Lithwick and Joyce fans.

My God, these are brilliant women.

Dahlia, for your regulars, she has been our go-to on the Supreme Court.

She is a senior editor for Slate, where she writes about the Supreme Court.

She is also a host of her podcast, Amicus.

Joyce makes her third appearance on the podcast.

She served as a U.S. attorney in the Northern District of Alabama from 2009 to 2017.

Those years not coincidentally coincide with the years Barack Obama was president.

Now Joyce is a distinguished professor of law at the University of of Alabama. Both

had been talking about the Alito draft since it dropped. So I was honored to have them both join me.

What I found interesting is how much this has impacted the two of them.

Dahlia is one of the funniest people I know.

Our conversation is usually contained a lot of laughter.

Dark humor has its place.

Actually, we also did a grim one right after the court ruled for SB 8 in Texas,

law in Texas banning abortions after six weeks.

And they did this on what's called the shadow docket.

On that show, we were joined by the then head of Planned Parenthood in Minnesota, Sarah Stace.

And that was a grim one.
