Summary

Merry Christmas from Unshaken Faith! In this special holiday episode, we’re mixing some festive fun with some serious discernment.

We’ll kick things off with our annual "Christmas Karens" who need to have some discussions with managers (if you're new to the Christmas livestream event, you'll soon understand what that means). Then we'll be doing a fun "Year in Review" where we talk about things like the most overconfident thoughts we had this year that reality quickly corrected.

Then we’ll pivot to a timely and important conversation as we review the progressive Christian book Better Ways to Read the Bible by Zach Lambert. We’ll walk through the interpretive “lenses” Lambert proposes, explain where we agree, and then take a careful look at where this approach goes wrong. If you want to skip the Christmas banter, the book review begins at the 01:13 mark.

This episode originally aired on YouTube on Dec. 16th. Be sure and subscribe if you want to watch the video!

All right, everybody, welcome, welcome. It's the Unshaken Faith live stream, our annual Christmas

0:26.7

live stream. Natasha, I realized that I think this is our fourth annual Christmas live stream.

0:33.6

I had completely forgotten about one of the ones, because I went back and looked at them today.

0:39.6

And I think this is our fourth time doing this.

0:42.5

Wow.

0:43.0

I was seeing you as three, but that's awesome.

0:45.2

I'm pretty sure this is number four.

0:47.3

Yes, because it was the first, it was the very first one where we debuted Christmas Carins,

0:53.3

which we will debut again for tonight because it's a big hit. The Christmas Carins, which we will debut again for tonight, because it's a big

0:56.6

hit. The Christmas Carins are a big hit. But we're going to do some fun stuff first. We're going to be,

1:01.6

first of all, I want to say to everybody that's joining us live, welcome. We're so glad that you're

1:05.9

joining in live. We will be taking some questions at the end. And so if you have questions throughout the broadcast,

1:13.0

just please put a cue or the word question in front of your question so that we can sort through

1:18.0

those and find those questions a little more easily. And, you know, tonight just pull up a chair,

1:23.5

grab a mug of cocoa, grab a big pile of laundry to fold or some dishes to put in the dishwasher

1:30.0

because, you know, we're not going to rush tonight. We're going to take our time. We are going to

1:35.0

give you some meat, which is what we usually like to do. We're going to be doing a book review of the

1:39.6

book, Better Ways to Read the Bible by Zach Lambert. And we are also, though, going to have some fun first.

1:45.3

So the first thing we're going to have fun with is AI. So I will just give a little bit of

1:50.6

background to my relationship with AI. So I've been really skeptical of AI. I have not wanted

1:57.1

to do AI. I avoid it at most costs, except when I'm doing research and I use it

2:04.2

like Google. Is that kind of how you use it, Natasha? Like just, I don't like, like, ask it
