It took me longer to finalize the editing of this one than I'd intended, thanks to insane

busyness on a couple of my non-podcasting fronts.

But better late than never.

And as you'll soon hear, this episode is extremely topical right now.

It's a conversation with Harvard epidemiologist Megan Murray.

Megan is an expert in tuberculosis, which is almost surely killed more people than any

other disease in history, with perhaps a billion victims in the 20th century alone.

And while people in wealthy countries may associate tuberculosis with the past, worldwide,

one person in four is currently infected with the bacteria that causes it, according to

the World Health Organization.

As you'll soon hear, the tricks those bacteria have evolved to endure in the human population

are as fascinating as they are showing, all of which would make Megan an intriguing person

to talk to at any time.
