Welcome to the Beginners Garden podcast. I'm Jill McShehehehe with Journey Withjil.net, and my goal is to give beginning gardeners the tools they part of the growing season, the hardest thing it is to do is to stop and rest and reflect.

When the cool weather spring crops start coming out,

the summer crops are going strong and it's almost like

you don't even have a chance to take a breath

because those summer crops, you're just hitting the ground running.

But, you know, those cool weather crops and those spring crops

I spent a lot of time preparing for. And I realized that I just really needed to stop and analyze

what worked and what didn't. So on today's episode of the Beginners Garden podcast, I'm just going to be

going through my reflection of how my spring

2018 garden ended up shaking out. Rather than a list of how-toes and tips for anything in particular,

what I'm hoping is that you can learn from my successes and maybe from some things that didn't go so well.

And perhaps you can use it to apply to your garden.

Maybe you're a little bit more north than me.

And so you are still growing some of these spring crops and this can apply to you right now.

But even if you're not and you're in my same

growing season or maybe even a little ahead of me, maybe you can take some of my experience to

help you when it comes to planning next year. Over this past weekend, I spent quite a bit of time

just walking through my garden. And sometimes

that's something I have to force myself to do because I'm a worker and every time I go out there,

I see what needs to be done. But this time I just made myself walk. I know one morning it was so

beautiful, a breeze in the morning and just uncharacteristically not humid for once and I had my coffee outside with me
