Greetings one and all. Welcome to another episode of tangentially speaking. Today's guest is Mark

Elliott. Mark is best known to the extent that you know him. You might know him as a guy who was

involved in Nixim, which is either a multi-level marketing company or a human optimization organization

or a sex cult depending upon what information you've heard. There was a multi-part two-season Netflix

documentary about this organization called the Vow. I first heard about this a while ago, a couple

years ago maybe, when the leader of this organization, again he's Keith Renieri, was arrested. I think

I read about it in the New York Times or some other mainstream news organization. And from the very

beginning it smelled fishy to me because most of the crimes, air quote crimes, that he was accused of,

this is before the trial before he was convicted of air quote crimes. They were things that are

creepy and make people uncomfortable, but they were not crimes. The gist of it is that apparently he

had sexual relationships with several of the women who were involved in this organization. And some

of the women either independently or at his direction, that's not clear, but in any case several of

the women formed this kind of like inner core group of you know Keith's girls and they had different

rituals involved with being in this little harem, one of which was branding themselves.

And so this whole thing kind of got out and the law got involved and decided they were going to

take him down and take the whole organization apart and they did and they accused him of sex

trafficking and child pornography and racketeering. I'm not really sure what racketeering is actually.

But in any case he was tried and convicted and now he's in prison probably for the rest of his life.
