This is a special episode that we are bringing back into the public sphere.

We want them to revisit this topic and this guest because, Tim, we have a well.

We have a proverbial crawl space of episodes that we just crawl through and we pick them from the dark with our little miners cap on and our light. And we see it. We're like, oh, here's Lou Velosie. We haven't had the public hear him in a little while and we pluck it from the crawl space. And that is what we're doing here. But what I want to pluck from the universe here is your mood. How are you today? I'm doing great. Thanks a lot for asking.

And yeah, so some of these episodes that we've been replaying are older, and this one is included. It's almost four years old, Lance. But it was a great conversation. And our guest,

Lou Velosie speaks all about his life undercover. And boy, it is a really wild story. I think Lou Velosie was one of the first guests that we had on who lived such a wild undercover life. And from there, we had other guests on who like Scott Payne, for example, they would come on and they would talk about that. Or Carrie Drobin, who was researching with a motorcycle gang, just these people who would

fold themselves into other lives that weren't their own. And I think Lou was probably among the

first that we spoke to who did this and would tell us these like heart-pounding stories.

Lou is a retired ATF agent who specialized in undercover operations, and he was part of the controversial

storefront operation where undercover agents would pose as store owners, and they would

buy illegal weapons off of the street, and they would turn them into the government, and

subsequently those weapons would be destroyed, and he took a number of these hundreds of

weapons off the streets, so he talks about that. And really the amazing moments that he would have as an

undercover, the dangerous moments that he would have as an undercover agent. Yeah, I know for me,

I'm fascinated by the, the new character that you have to create in order to keep yourself alive and you really

got to stick with it. It's like acting on a stage with guns pointed at you. I mean, it's unbelievable

to imagine going through this. A lot of my questions have to do with his nerves and things like that

because I'm just sort of endlessly fascinated by that aspect of it. But yeah, really impressive guy,
