1:33.3	Why these tragic events? Why this much sorrow and sadness? And we've talked about the way that the world descends, decays over time, and these kinds of
1:52.0	themes in Tolkien's work.
1:54.4	And we've seen it firsthand.
1:57.7	The things that the elves make don't actually last forever.
2:02.2	They themselves can last forever, but, or at least as long as the world lasts.
2:08.6	But the machinations of Melkor, Morgoth, the terrible things that go on,

2:21.3	The kingdoms of the elves don't stand forever.
2:25.1	We've already seen the fall of Nargothrond.
2:28.2	By the third age, the world is looking pretty worse for where the elven kingdoms have been reduced to a few locations
2:41.3	Rivendell, Lothelorian, some other minor locations like the kingdom in Merckwood.
2:50.5	Even the human kingdoms are still not doing so well in the third age.
