Summary

Today I sit down with the King of the 4x4 world Mr Jonathan Ward owner of Icon.

To say this is a handmade episode is an understatement. Jonathan builds the most insane Trucks and Cars I have ever seen.

Jonathan's first career was in the acting game. This man worked on Broadway then moved to California for TV and Film work.

After years of success he realized he wasn't happy in the acting world and decided to leave it all behind for his true passion restoring Toyota Land Cruiser's and Ford Bronco's.

Icon is hands down the best in the world and that is the truth.

Tune in and hear this Handmade Episode and also follow him on Instagram @icon4x4

States. I was looking at Arizona. They're like 117 for a solid week. Oh man. I don't know if you've been in that kind of heat.

0:36.0

It doesn't matter if you're just inside an AC, but if you got to go to work or do shit and your cars parked outside and then you come out and you got to get in that car.

0:49.0

Oh, forget about it, son. Forget of cooked hands, scorched hands. Your beautiful cars just getting baked. Oh, that's why it's to me. It's just like garage is such a such a must anyway. I'm rambling at the top of the show. Welcome to the episode today.

1:13.0

And I think the reason I was thinking about the heat the most was my guest today. Jonathan Ward from icon four by four. It makes a I can't even really describe what he does because it is so next level.

1:38.0

What he does to these automobiles that it it's almost like. I don't know you have to you have to watch his videos you have to somehow try to go see his place.

1:52.0

You have to look at his Instagram even though really take in what this guy does what he does is he basically takes old four by four Toyota's Ford Broncos.

2:05.0

And he turns him into masterpieces. I've I've first heard about him years ago. And I've always been in love with the Ford Bronco starting with the first generation ones the the late 60s 70s Broncos. I particularly love the sport model. My buddy had one and I never forgot it was just it was amazing.

2:34.0

Uncut fenders I can't stand when people cut the fenders and just ruin the ride but I've been a Bronco guy for years and years and years I love the new Bronco I love the old Broncos.

2:50.0

And to see somebody who has vision knowledge and I tell you Jonathan is he is an encyclopedia of of knowledge of all things you know cool it's it's crap on I knew some shit this guy was just he was just spitting it out man.

3:17.0

I think you guys are going to love this episode he's a former child actor he was very successful and he he was Charles and charge he was on steel magnolias he worked on Broadway when he was young he was in the game he was working a full time acting gig and decided hey this ain't for me.

3:41.0

You know how many people get in the game and then say this ain't for me I would say maybe one or two and Jonathan being one maybe some other guy we don't know about but he was in the game and realize this ain't for me and reinvented himself which is absolutely

4:02.0

an incredible story in itself to be successful at one thing and then start all over and be successful and another thing oh he hit lightning in the bottle twice but this particular gig icon 4x4 you can tell really makes him happy and even if he wasn't successful he would still be doing this and that's what I love about him and that's always what I always wanted to say.

4:32.0

I always try to preach on this show not preach that sounds corny but I always try to tell people man make sure you're doing what you love to do only here once you hear it a million million million times and it doesn't seem to stick in a lot of people's minds but you really are only here once and for him to tell me about his life journey it just it was just amazing because that's exactly how I related to him.

5:02.0

I was like wow this guy started over he took a chance and did it. He said something kind of amazing that really hit me he said respect your perspective and that is a great great motto to hear that it was really cool to hear that.

5:28.0

He also loves leather jackets he's not only does he build amazing automobiles but he's constantly trying to create other stuff so leather jackets wallets boots he's got all kinds of things going on but most of all what really blows me away beyond anything is I always thought if you're going to do something try to be the absolute best.

5:58.0

I always try to do that you know you might not make it or hit the mark but at least try don't cut corners don't go for the fast fast way just do it right and that's what this man does which is pretty pretty amazing great to have him on is that the so number 543.
