π TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Psalm 141
O Lord, I call upon you; hasten to me!
Give ear to my voice when I call to you!
2 Let my prayer be counted as incense before you,
and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!
3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
keep watch over the door of my lips!
4 Do not let my heart incline to any evil,
to busy myself with wicked deeds
in company with men who work iniquity,
and let me not eat of their delicacies!
5 Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness;
let him rebuke me—it is oil for my head;
let my head not refuse it.
Yet my prayer is continually against their evil deeds.
6 When their judges are thrown over the cliff,[a]
then they shall hear my words, for they are pleasant.
7 As when one plows and breaks up the earth,
so shall our bones be scattered at the mouth of Sheol.[b]
8 But my eyes are toward you, O God, my Lord;
in you I seek refuge; leave me not defenseless![c]
9 Keep me from the trap that they have laid for me
and from the snares of evildoers!
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
while I pass by safely.

| 0:00.0 | Good morning my friends. It is time for the morning mindset again. My name is |
| 0:06.0 | Carrie Green. I am your friend here just bringing the scriptures to your |
| 0:11.2 | attention every morning. That's what the morning mindset is about because the scriptures will guide us in how we should think |
| 0:17.6 | Because our minds do not remain aligned with the truth of God day today. It's almost like every morning when we wake up |
| 0:24.4 | it resets to a default that is not a godly default. I think that's in part |
| 0:29.7 | because we still live in fallen human bodies that are prone to the effects of sin, but also because |
| 0:35.6 | we're just in such a habit of living in independent ways that are not the ways of God. |
| 0:42.0 | And so the morning mind says here is a tool to help us |
| 0:45.4 | get our minds aligned with the truth of God. Today's topic comes from |
| 0:51.0 | Psalm chapter 141. We're going to look at verse number five and we're going to be |
| 0:57.3 | looking into something that is very much a thing that is not in alignment with the way we tend to think as human beings or |
| 1:06.2 | the way we tend to think as people in our modern culture. |
| 1:11.3 | I want to start out the topic by asking you a question. How do you typically |
| 1:16.8 | respond when someone comes to you with a concern about you, a concern about your life. What's your instinct in terms of response? What are you |
| 1:30.1 | most likely to do? Will you get defensive? Will you lash out at them? Will you say |
| 1:39.0 | something like, who are you to judge me or don't judge me? |
| 1:44.4 | Now I think in a moment like this when there's not a |
| 1:47.2 | situation like that facing us |
| 1:49.3 | it's easy to say well of course not I wouldn't respond in those ways. I'd try to hear them out and I'd want to |
| 1:56.4 | understand what they're concerned about and see if there's any truth in it. |
| 2:01.4 | But I'm asking you to take a moment to think back to situations where you've had this sort of a |
| 2:09.0 | confrontation happen. |
