You are our first DEA agent that we have been able to talk to so we can take our listeners behind police lines of the DEA. So thanks so much.

That's my pleasure. I mean, what I'm going to talk about today is not necessarily your traditional gum shoe police work.

It's something that is unique to the DEA.

That's great. Well, let me ask you first off, what got you interested in the DEA out of anything you could have done in the world?

I knew that I wanted to serve. I wanted to have a life of service.

And I didn't know if it was going to be in the military per se or if it was going to be in some form of law enforcement capacity.

As a young man, I grew up about 12 miles from the FBI Academy. So I would visit it. And I would see the new agents with the DEA calls base agents.

And it was something that I researched and I desired to look into it.
