Summary

Are you characterized by POSITIVITY or NEGATIVITY? Is this something you think you can control? Did you realize that the answers to those questions have a VERY significant impact on your long term prospects for success in business?

There's no such thing as a harmless post or conversation as a business leader. There's no such thing as a great leader who always has bad news to share.

As you may recall I've done a couple other episodes now about "e-commerce leadership" in recent weeks, and this is a continuation of those discussions. Success in ANY business means working on your leadership skills, so I'm putting my 20 years of ecommerce leadership experience to use and recording some observations. I've received a LOT of great feedback about the three episodes I've recorded on this topic so far, so I dove a bit deeper today on a topic that I believe is of vital importance as you grow your business and leadership skills in the ecommerce arena.

Special guest at the conclusion of today's show, Jeff Schick of JeffSchick.com answers the question: What are the odds of a permanent suspension if I sell on Amazon using the REPLENS strategies or other strategies taught in the ProvenAmazonCourse.com course?

Hey, business building warrior, this is Jim Silent Sales Machine Radio. Thanks for joining me today.

I'm looking forward to diving into a subject that's received some great feedback.

0:12.2

We've done a few episodes now. You can scroll back in time if you didn't catch those,

0:17.2

where I've talked about leadership from an e-commerce vantage point. The premise being,

0:24.5

again, as I've mentioned on those previous handful of recent episodes, the premise being that

0:30.1

there's a lot of great books and content out there about leadership. The last thing we need is

0:34.6

more leadership content, right? There's a million books. But I haven't seen that content focused specifically on what it's like to lead in an e-commerce environment where you rarely see face-to-face the people and the relationships that you're dealing with. That does create some unique leadership challenges. Leadership in the era of social media.

0:57.2

What should I be putting on Facebook? What are the rules here? What does it look like to grow a

1:03.5

business and lead in e-commerce? And just so there's no mistake, if you're in business, you are a leader. Because one of the

1:13.4

definitions I'm using of leadership for this series in my mind, one of the definitions I've had for a

1:19.7

long time out of necessity is someone who leads is someone who helps others come to a decision

1:26.7

point based on their influence and input. If you're helping

1:31.1

others get on a path that they wouldn't otherwise be on, that's leadership. It could be buying

1:37.0

something, spending money, sales is a leadership role. You're leading people towards a decision

1:43.4

point. And a good leader always leads

1:46.1

people towards being in a better situation than they were before they encountered the leader.

1:51.1

A good leader replicates other leaders in their wake. Leadership produces leadership, right?

1:58.2

A good leader sacrifices self to provide better for those who he's leading,

2:04.5

right? These are basic leadership concepts that you can read anywhere. Any kind of biblical-based

2:09.5

leadership foundational study is going to teach those kind of basic concepts of what it means to

2:15.1

lead well. That's the foundation we're using here. If you're not

2:18.6

sure why I use that foundation, go back and listen to episode zero. I explain quite a bit about why
