I would say that of all the things that I talked about this offseason, the one thing that

seemed to be most interesting to people is the ambiguous RB1 theory.

Even this week when I asked for mailbag questions on Twitter, a lot of them focused on the theory.

For those of you who didn't listen to the Breakout Running Back episode last month, and

for those who didn't see the article that I published on Number Fire right after, let

me give you a quick rundown.

I looked at a bunch of different criteria that we should look for when spotting Breakout

Running Bags.

For example, you should target pass-catching bags in the middle and the late rounds when

looking for players who can far exceed ADP expectation.

And there's math and there's reasoning as to why.

Now the ambiguous RB1 theory sort of spawned from that study.

What I noticed was in general, Team RB1s by ADP, they were breaking out an exceeding expectation

at a much higher rate than Team RB2s.

And by Team RB1s, I'm talking about Running Bags who are the first running back selected
