Welcome to the Huntback Country podcast. This is episode number 531, and our guest, Nick, is one of you guys. He's a listener of the show,

and he told me about a caribou hunt that he was going on in Alaska this fall. That's not

just why I want to talk with Nick, though. The more I got to hear more of his story, I realized

he had a cool background in the sense that he is newer to

hunting, but he also has extensive experience in the outdoors. As a guide for some climbing

and other adventures, I was curious to hear how his previous experience in the outdoors would

combine with his take on hunting. And so Nick has gotten to do some

hunting so far, but hasn't yet killed a big game animal. Hopefully in this upcoming caribou hunt,

he will do that for the first time. But he also has some other unique perspectives, including

recently going to an elk hunting boot camp or class of

sorts. So we talk about a lot of things. We talk about his past experience, his perspectives as a

new hunter, his upcoming caribou hunt, his recent elk hunting boot camp, how he sees the outdoors

differently now that he is a hunter, and a whole lot more.
