Summary

A simple timer changed how we look at every day. We discovered the “lifetimer” idea—a way to estimate the percentage of life you’ve lived based on average lifespan—and everything snapped into focus. Instead of obsessing over adding years, we talk about adding life to the years we have, counting weeks to make time tangible, and making choices that feel true now rather than postponing joy for some distant finish line. Have you ever heard of this thing called The Lifetimer?

0:15.1

It's so fascinating.

0:16.6

My friend told me about it in my mad rush to prepare for this trip, this 17-day cruise that we

0:23.4

accepted last minute, and I had some anxiety around it.

0:27.9

And she said to me that her husband has something, I believe it's called a lifetimer.

0:33.2

If you Google around, I'm sure you'll be able to find it.

1:27.9

absolutely mental. She was like, you know, my husband has this thing, I believe it's called

1:33.4

the lifetimer or the life balance timer. And based on the average lifespan of a man or woman

1:39.9

in the USA, it tells you what percentage of your life you've already lived. And for women, it's

1:47.1

interesting, I thought it was, it was longer or more than this. The average lifespan is 79. So I'm

1:55.6

almost 42. So I'm going to be 42 in January, which means I've lived over half my life.

2:02.6

I mean, God willing, I hope I live many, many long, happy years.

2:05.5

I mean, even living to 79, what a privilege, right?
