Hey friends, welcome to the Natasha Crane podcast. Most of you have probably heard me talk

many times about the fact that research shows only about 4% of Americans have a biblical worldview.

When people hear that statistic for the first time, they always find it hard to believe

and they want to know where does this even come from. Well, that finding and many, many others

come from something called the annual worldview inventory conducted by the Cultural Research Center

at Arizona Christian University under the direction of my guest today, Dr. George Barnum.

George is renowned for his worldview research over

the last 40 plus years and is a wealth of knowledge on cultural and spiritual trends in America.

He has also pastored two churches and written 60 books, including his most recent one,

Raising Spiritual Champions, Nurturing Your Child's Heart, Mind, and soul. I had George on my podcast to talk

all about the methodology behind determining people's worldview through research about three

years ago now, and I'll put a link to that episode in the show notes. But I've invited him back

today to talk about his latest findings because they are, to put it very bluntly, shockingly

disappointing from a Christian

perspective. I can think of no better way to summarize the situation than stating that most,

and yes, most self-identified Christians don't understand even the basics of biblical Christianity.

So today we're going to dig into some of the most important and shocking

findings behind that statement, and I can't wait to get Georgia's insights on what is going on.
