It wouldn't be right if I didn't start today's show by talking about the viral video that went

around yesterday with Don LaGrecca and his epic rant against football analytics.

If you didn't see it you can probably find it with a quick google search, but I wanted

to talk about some of the things that I found particularly terrible about this rant.

The rant was about the giants in their offensive line.

The offensive line has been really bad, but he hates that there are metrics that talk

about how bad the offensive line has been.

At the start of the rant he's sarcastically making fun of people who look at analytics

by saying, only 27% of the time was Eli pressured from his left side on Monday nights

when Sean McDonnell's the announcer.

I mean aside from that sentence not making any sense, is this really what some people

believe is happening behind the scenes with analytics that analytically minded people

who are pushing great work actually think that who's announcing a game matters?

Do people really think this?

I know it was an over the top statement to make and he's trying to prove a point, but

clearly the ignorance is showing right from the start of this rant.

He then says, quote, your eyeballs tell the story and that the offensive line sucks period.

That's my stat.
