Here's Paul.

Put to death what is earthly in you.

Interesting, huh?

And then he says this.

Sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness,

which is idolatry, on account of these, the wrath of God is coming.

These you once walk, but now you must put away anger, wrath, malice, slander, obscene talk.

Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self, which is with its practices, and you'll put on the new self.

Now, look at all those sin words in that passage.

What are all of those words about?

Don't say sin, because they are sin. What are they all about?

Earth, but even more specifically.

Self.

You see, if you're not living with God's agenda in mind, his plan, an awareness of where this was going, it will become all about you.

Because you're detached from something bigger than you.

That's why the Bible says

believing in the second coming is the hope that purifies.
