This episode is a recap of our recent death hike in the Grand Canyon.

Most of you listen, you're probably familiar with the concept of our yearly death hike and what that is.

But if you're totally new and maybe have missed that context, the name is really

just started as a joke. Ten years ago, Steve and Linney grabbed a group of guys and was like,

man, what can we do? What are we capable of? Let's go find our limits. And unofficially,

the first death hike, or what it's become known as, began.

And every year, we've been doing something since. So the exact group of guys has changed.

Some guys come and go. Other guys have been very consistent with doing it each year.

We've done hikes that are based in Idaho.

We've gone to Alaska.

Some hikes have been very mileage focused.

Other hikes have been more about the challenge with surprises along the way.

Off-trail navigation.

They look different each year. But this year,

we came back to the Grand Canyon for redemption. Last year, we had this goal of doing a rim-to-rim

to rim and then repeating that, which ends up being about 100 miles. And last year, we failed. All of us. No single person

did day two. Everyone did a rim to rim to rim on day one, which is great. It's a good challenge.

It's a tough day. But due to weather and some other circumstances, which you can hear about if you want to hear

last year's podcast, we all failed. And so this year we had the goal of heading back to the

Grand Canyon for redemption. If you want to hear about last year's death hike or really any

of the previous year's death hikes, we've done podcasts for them pretty much every year.
