This is something a bit different than I normally do, but I've always wanted to cover this

topic, so I hope you enjoy them.

Hey swampdweller, I've been debating on sending my story in to contain some sensitive

information, but you have been so good with others about anonymity, so I trust you.

I'm a 27-year-old guy, and I work as a correctional officer at a maximum security prison.

I am an ad-seg officer, which means I watch over the inmates who are too dangerous to

be in the general population.

I have received extensive weapons training as well as hand-to-hand combat training, so

I'm accustomed to getting physical if the situation calls for it, and it often does.

This story took place about 8 months ago.

We received a new inmate from a transfer, and he was a small Hispanic man that had ties

to a drug cartel.
