I'm a grown man who never read the Percy Jackson books as a kid, but I'm reading them for the first time as an adult because I'm on a quest to determine if this is a book series that we've all been sleeping on as a society, but I am not alone on this quest. I am joined in person by someone who's usually behind the scenes, but now is in front of and behind the scenes for this episode. It's our editor, Sherry Guo. Sherry, how's it going?

Hi, it's going great. I've had a great summer in New York. Yes. It's been very fun to have you here helping out with a lot of different things for a lot of different podcasts. You called dibs on this many, many moons in advance. And I didn't know what happened in the chapter, but I knew that

it was going to be something intense because there were a lot of people that requested if I was

to record me reading a chapter. Chapter 14 had lots of requests. So I didn't know what was going

on, but I knew it was a spicy one. So when you asked for it, I was like, all right, let's go. So

let's get into it. But before we do, I think you've already touched on this, but just to make sure we're covering our bases here, as a repeat guest, you get to answer your godly parentage. I know you think of yourself as a child of Athena, but have quizzes confirmed that for you? Yes, they have. Even when I tried to game it to give me Poseidon,

because when I was a kid, I was so torn between being a child of Athena or a child of Poseidon,

because Percy's the main character and like, who doesn't want to be the main character? Of course.

But also, blue was my favorite color. And even though I didn't like going into the water,

I liked water type Pokemon the best and water fairies best in like the Pixie Hollow universe. So I was like trying to game it. But even when I tried to game it on a couple of the questions, it always gave me Athena. So I think that confirms. Nice. Amazing. What is your favorite water-type Pokemon? Vaporion. Oh, Vaporian's really good. Okay. Nice. I'm glad I was worried because of the age difference. You were going to say some Pokemon from Gen 6 or whatever that I've never heard of. No, I stopped playing Pokemon after Diamond and Pearl. Okay. I stopped after yellow. So I was a nine-year-old little hipster. I was like, oh, they're making new ones? I'm out. But no, Vaporound was really good. And did you do Pokemon Go when it was going around?

And did you do Pokemon Go when it was going around? I did for like two days, but then I went on a run to capture Pokemon and I tripped on the sidewalk and cracked my phone screen. So then I deleted it and stopped playing Pokemon altogether. Man, man. well in Pocomago, Vaporion was very, very strong, at least when they only had the Gen 1 Pokemon. Like, Vaporion was one of the go-toes, very
