The return of Phoebe?

0:06.0

Does Phoebe come to save the day? What's good. Thank you so much for tuning into another episode of the newest Olympian. My name is Mike Schubert. I'm the titular newest Olympian. I'm a grown man who never read the Percy Jackson books as a kid, but I'm reading them for the first time as an adult because I'm on a quest to determine if this is a book series that we've all been sleeping on as a society, but I am not alone on this quest. I am joined in person by someone who's usually behind the scenes, but now is in front of and behind the scenes for this episode. It's our editor, Sherry Guo. Sherry, how's it going?

0:54.5

Hi, it's going great. I've had a great summer in New York. Yes. It's been very fun to have you here helping out with a lot of different things for a lot of different podcasts. And we're recording this on August 25th, the day after the first ever TNO live show, which was very fun. If I sound a little tired, it's because I am.

0:52.9

And it was a very fun show.

0:54.7

You helped out with the Q&A portion, which was very fun. If I sound a little tired, it's because I am. And it was a very fun show.

1:12.3

You helped out with the Q&A portion, which was super fun. And I had a blast. Did you have a blast? It was so much fun. Good. Okay, good. Glad to hear it. I had a good time. It seems like everybody watching in person and streaming-wise had a good time. If you are listening to this after the fact, you can still watch

1:27.7

the video of it. If you go to the newsolimpian.com slash merch, you can download that video replay,

which had seven camera angles, which was wild and I didn't know was happening until after the fact.

1:39.4

But yeah, it was a wild, fun, ridiculous evening in New York City.

1:43.4

Very, very entertaining. I am glad. I'm glad. And no, I didn't pay you to say that. No, he did not. I pay you to edit. We are here to discuss chapter 14 of Percy Jackson and the Titans Curse. You called dibs on this many, many moons in advance. And I didn't know what happened in the chapter, but I knew that

2:02.7

it was going to be something intense because there were a lot of people that requested if I was

2:07.2

to record me reading a chapter. Chapter 14 had lots of requests. So I didn't know what was going

2:13.6

on, but I knew it was a spicy one. So when you asked for it, I was like, all right, let's go. So

2:16.9

let's get into it. But before we do, I think you've already touched on this, but just to make sure we're covering our bases here, as a repeat guest, you get to answer your godly parentage. I know you think of yourself as a child of Athena, but have quizzes confirmed that for you? Yes, they have. Even when I tried to game it to give me Poseidon,

2:35.3

because when I was a kid, I was so torn between being a child of Athena or a child of Poseidon,

2:40.1

because Percy's the main character and like, who doesn't want to be the main character? Of course.

2:44.2

But also, blue was my favorite color. And even though I didn't like going into the water,

2:49.2

I liked water type Pokemon the best and water fairies best in like the Pixie Hollow universe. So I was like trying to game it. But even when I tried to game it on a couple of the questions, it always gave me Athena. So I think that confirms. Nice. Amazing. What is your favorite water-type Pokemon? Vaporion. Oh, Vaporian's really good. Okay. Nice. I'm glad I was worried because of the age difference. You were going to say some Pokemon from Gen 6 or whatever that I've never heard of. No, I stopped playing Pokemon after Diamond and Pearl. Okay. I stopped after yellow. So I was a nine-year-old little hipster. I was like, oh, they're making new ones? I'm out. But no, Vaporound was really good. And did you do Pokemon Go when it was going around?

3:07.7

I did. your old little hipster. They was like, oh, they're making new ones? I'm out. But no, Vaporin was really good.

3:42.8

And did you do Pokemon Go when it was going around? I did for like two days, but then I went on a run to capture Pokemon and I tripped on the sidewalk and cracked my phone screen. So then I deleted it and stopped playing Pokemon altogether. Man, man. well in Pocomago, Vaporion was very, very strong, at least when they only had the Gen 1 Pokemon. Like, Vaporion was one of the go-toes, very
