It was a cold October night, when cyclist Aaron Kreifels came upon something horrifying on the side of the desolate road as he made his way home just after dusk. Slumped over and tied to a fence post was bloody & brutally beaten Matthew Shepard clinging to life. It would later be determined that Matthew had been slumped at the fence for over 18 hours since he had been beaten and tied to the fence by two young locals, Russell Henderson & Aaron Mckinney.
