Hi there, my name is Stefan Mollanyum. The host of Free Domain, the largest and most popular

0:03.7

philosophy show in the world, and I am here to steal a few minutes from your day to just make your

0:09.6

life pretty much infinitely better. We're going to be talking about daycare. The effects of daycare,

0:15.4

choices to stay home, to not stay home, the facts, the reasoning, the morals, and the effects of

0:21.6

this most important choice. We talk about the research facts about daycare. We've got health and

0:25.9

well-being, effects on children and their cognitive development. What the result of intervention

programs have been the financial costs and benefits and so on. The benefits of being a stay at home

1:10.8

rates by Marital Status in Presence of Children March 1948 to 2005. The big line is this sort of

1:19.9

1:28.7

of course, have been going into the workforce, but married women with children under age 18,

1:34.3

it's a massive, massive shift, one of the biggest shifts in the history of the world. In fact,

1:40.3

people say, well, why did women go into the workforce? I mean, we'll see the data later that 80%

1:46.4

of working mothers would rather not work. So why did they want to go? Why did they end up going

1:51.0

into the workforce? Well, there's a lot of propaganda and so on. But it wasn't because of the need

1:58.1

for money because when women go into the workforce, supply and demand, all they do is they drive down

2:04.8

the wages of men. So that hasn't really done much. You could say, well, women tend to vote for a lot
