important cinema club, and today's a very special episode. I know that all of our listeners have been waiting with

baited breath for the top 10 list of movies that they've all heard about before. You know,

somebody needed to do a top 10 list, and we decided to do it. The 10 best movies of 2016,

according to us, which will have many consensus choices. The only list you will ever need this year.

Throw all the other ones out. Have you heard of a little movie called Moonlight? A little movie called Manchester by the Sea. Well, guess what? Get ready to hear about them again. Do you read a lot of people's top ten lists, Will? I used to read more. I mean, you know, I read the top ten lists of, you know, people I follow on Twitter and a select group of critics I like.

When I read one, you just hope for that movie that you're like, oh, I've never heard of this before. And this person obviously really likes it. So I have to go check it out. That didn't really happen this year. The other thing that's frustrating, too, is, you know, critics are releasing their top 10 list at the beginning of December because they've seen all these movies in advance and half the movies haven't even come out yet. You're like, I haven't seen silence. It hasn't come out. And like by the time a movie like La La Land comes out, it's already gone through like 10 rounds of backlash and backlash to the backlash and backlash to the backlash to the backlash. There's no way to wrap your head around it.

By the time I finally saw La La Land, it's like, oh, I don't even, it's redundant. I've already been through like 10 cycles of backlash. You're like, my emotional core has been shaking so much that I can't enjoy it for what it is. Exactly. Okay, so we're going to do what we did last year, which is we go, you give your 10, I give my 10.

No, not really. Other than the fact that there's no real surprises on this one. I did look at the Caged cinema, top 10, and be like,

maybe there's a, there's, you know, a curveball I can throw.

have a funny top 10 list. They do, but the thing about Cage Cinema as well is that they

have films from like 2014 in their list fairly often, because I don't know, the distribution

system or the way that people can just pick whatever movie you want. Armand White just put out his better than list this year. And I was reading it and I was thinking, man, what a self-parody that guy's become. What was like, what does that list entail? You know, all the stuff that you would expect him not to like. It was like, well. All the, all the popular stuff? Well, he doesn't like Moonlight.

He doesn't like the Ava DuVarnay documentary.

All the stuff you would expect him not to like.
