Hey everybody, we got a great one today, you know, for a change. And thank God. It's a repeat of my

conversation with Amy Klobuchar, who was my senior senator from Minnesota. In it, we talk about her

book, Antitrust, which is an issue of

enormous importance. It doesn't get talked about enough for my mind, given the importance

in terms of how we get our social media, how we get our meat, our coffins. That's right. Our coffins. Today, two companies control 82% of casket sales in this

country. Amy asked the only antitrust question in the Katanji Brown Jackson hearings and asked

it in the first round.

A bit about those hearings.

I, of course, was on the Judiciary Committee and colleagues with a lot of members of those

that are on the committee now.

And I have to say, I took issue really with the approach of both sides, most egregious,

of course, were Graham and Cruz and Hawley and Cotton and

Marsha Blackburn, Blackburn operating on just a whole different plane. But I just heard,

and maybe this is a rumor, but I just heard that Graham, Cruz, Holly, and Cotton have all demanded to see all the child porn in the cases that Judge Jackson ruled on.

I did a podcast a couple weeks ago with Dahlia Lithwick about the hearings, but because of our schedule

here at the prestigious Al Franken podcast, it was really kind of just midway through the second

day when we recorded it. And a lot has been said about how reprehensible many of the Republicans were, and Dahlia and I got into this.

We felt it was a missed opportunity for the Democrats on the committee to show what the stakes are in the upcoming midterm.

It is essential, essential that we keep the Senate in the midterms.

So that should the opportunity for Biden to nominate another justice arrives, we won't

see another Merrick Garland situation.
