| 2:53.9 | Advertising should be thought of as an investment. It is never an expense unless one thing occurs. And that one thing is it ain't working. All right. |
| 3:03.9 | So, if your ads are working, it is not an expense. It is an investment. And most importantly, it's a profitable investment. All right. |
| 3:12.9 | Now, kind of stay with this thought train for a minute because I know we're all entrepreneurs and we're in business because we want to do two things. We want to make a good living. We want to make money and we want to make a difference. We want to do good work. |
| 3:23.9 | I don't think very many people go into business going, hey, let's do some bad work. Right. So, we want to help people. We want to get paid well to do it. That's why we're in business. |
| 3:30.9 | So, we can't do a damn bit of good for anybody unless we're making money. Well, of all the investments in the world that we could ever make is quite possible that a successful ad campaign is going to give you a better return on your effort energy and money invested that anything else in the world. So, hear me out on this one. |
| 3:49.9 | So, let's say that we spend a dollar on ads, which of course, you know, I'm just using this for easy math, all right. Let's say we spend a dollar on ads so we put a dollar into this machine that is advertising. And within 30 days we get a dollar and 20 cents back. Doesn't seem that exciting. Does it? |
| 4:06.9 | So, I tell you compare it to every other type of investing in the world. All right. So, I got on the Google, and that's the proper way to say it, right, by the way, the Google. And I looked up like Warren Buffett, who's supposed to be the greatest investor ever, what his average returns are. And he's 21% a year. That means if we gave Warren Buffett a dollar and then we just sat around for a year, just kind of like, how's it going? It's pretty good. Okay. A year up yet? No. So, got to wait. Okay. So, we do that for a year. At the end of the year we will get 21 cents back. |
