Summary

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to finally start that thing you said you’d do this year, this episode is your wake-up call. Because the truth is, that moment isn’t coming.

This week, I’m pulling back the curtain on a very real, very messy week in my life and sharing why I decided to hit record anyway. From sick kids to mental clutter to a house that is far from organized, I had every reason to wait. But instead, I leaned into a powerful reminder: progress doesn’t require perfection.

In this episode, I walk you through the mindset shifts that have helped me move through overwhelm, take action with limited time and energy, and stop letting the idea of “feeling ready” delay my goals. Because sometimes the real work isn’t the task itself, it’s learning how to show up before everything feels aligned.

Main Takeaways

  • Waiting for the perfect time will keep you stuck longer than just starting messy
  • You have to work with the time and energy you actually have, not what you wish you had
  • Naming what’s holding you back helps you move through it faster
  • The real growth often comes from managing your mindset, not completing the task

Highlights Include

00:00 – Why I recorded this episode despite not feeling ready

02:10 – How “unexpected” life moments keep disrupting plans

04:18 – Learning to work in chaos instead of waiting for order

05:30 – Lowering the bar to get started

06:10 – Work with the time you have, not the time you wish you had

08:00 – Managing your energy to show up at your best

10:15 – Why naming the problem helps you move forward

11:43 – Recognizing the season you’re in and adjusting expectations

14:00 – Are you truly blocked or just thrown off?

Hey, friends. Hey, welcome, welcome back to the show. It's Nikaela here. And if I'm being honest with you today, I'm coming to you and I'm feeling a bit stressed. Why? Because I have been waiting to feel ready to record my next few episodes. And it's not happening. So I thought, why not make today's episode about why waiting to feel ready is probably holding you back too,

0:23.4

because spoiler alert, there's never the exact right time. Okay. So let me break down what's been

0:30.2

going on in my week for you for a little bit. Okay, so it's Wednesday. I'm recording an episode

0:34.7

that's coming out Friday. I keep trying to get ahead with

0:38.3

batch recording and then something keeps coming up. So this week it was, the kids are sick with,

0:43.3

I don't know what yet. We're actually going to the doctor today this afternoon. And I had batch

0:48.9

recording scheduled for a few days last week. I was just dealing with hormones and just didn't feel up to it.

0:55.1

So pushed it to this week.

0:56.3

Never push anything you're going to do.

0:58.8

Power through because without fail, something's going to pop up.

1:03.6

And that's what's going on.

1:05.6

And it just got me to thinking about this idea that, you know what, it's the end of March.

1:10.2

The first quarter of

1:12.2

26 is almost over. And I guarantee you there's something that you probably have been pushing back as

1:19.4

well, waiting for some perfect aligned time when you're in the right space, when it feels good,

1:24.3

and all this other stuff. Before you know it, you're going to look up and it's

1:28.1

going to be the end of Q2. And then after six months have gone by in a year, you are going to

1:34.4

start telling yourself, you know what, maybe I'll wait till next year. And that's how the mind

1:38.7

plays tricks on us. So we have to figure out a way to push through this. Now, I'm coming to you today as someone who has not conquered it, but who has learned to move through it.

1:50.7

So I'm going to share with you what I do to move through it.

1:54.9

So let's get right into it.
