What's going on, everybody?

Welcome back for another episode of Trigger.

This is Trigger's number 507 on Wednesday, March 20th, 24.

We're here.

And it's been a pretty interesting week with developments on the Texas immigration wall.

First, we had the Supreme Court say no.

You can't put it into effect.

Then the following morning, they say, sure, go ahead.

Yep.

And then later that evening, a different federal appeals court,

which apparently can overrule the Supreme Court,

I was not aware of how that worked, said that, no, it can't go into effect.

Now, it's because they ruled on a different aspect of it.

But the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals said, well, you know, the Supreme Court actually was like wrong.

Yeah.

Now, here's the thing.

It's because the Supreme Court ruled that the emergency injunction that was filed by Biden to keep the border open was not valid.

They didn't actually rule on the merit of the law.

And now that the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled against the law,

it will enable, I believe, the merits of the law to go to the Supreme Court,

is I think how this is going to work. But at the end of the day, it's outrageous that we have... Obedo punted initially? Well, I think they just needed a couple more hours to figure things out. In the end, it was like, what, 7-2 or 6-3? It was 6-3, yeah. So it was another decision that pained Sonia Sotomayor to her core.
