If you do not know my friend, Dr. Serita Lyons, this is her book that I'm holding in my hands and you are going to get to know her today. Now, if you've been around me for a little bit, you may have already seen her on the podcast. If you're around me for a little bit, you may already know she was

one of our speakers at my church conference, Desperate for Jesus, and my church, hailing from

Dallas, Texas, Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. But you may not know her as an author because the last

time she sat in front of me on the couch or in her couch, we were virtual,

she had not yet authored a book, but now author with her name on this book called Church Girl,

lots of people are getting to know her, and I cannot wait for you to get to know more about her

and the message on her heart today. Welcome, Dr. Serita. Hi, Crystal. Thank you. That felt very real and talk showish,

didn't it? Yes. Okay, so so much has changed since our first interview. I actually,

I'm just going to go in. We're going to come back around the bush later. I'm going to go straight

in. All right. Let's go. So you are one of the people who often is talking about to me getting a book off the ground

and trying to figure that out.

But the difference is when we last talked, you had a whole book.

It was written.

You were shopping it around. And you had some experiences that were a little discouraging. So I just want to start off giving you a little street grid for having a book that you have delivered into my hands and into so many people's hands, but going back to the place where you had a dream to do something and it wasn't panning out. So talk, what was that

original title? Slaying serpets. Slaying serpents. I remember. I remember the serpent part for sure.

So slaying serpents and you were trying to get that book published.

Yes.

And it wasn't going so well.
