I'm your host, Chris Christensen.

Continuing on with Chapter 4 today, talking about unity and maturity in the body of Christ.

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Be completely humble and gentle. Be patient, bearing with one another in love, make every effort

to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.

There's one body and one spirit, just as you are called to one hope when you are called.

One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

So one of the things, a couple words there that are obvious in terms of their repetition, one, one spirit, one body, one faith, one hope.

Right.

There's an emphasis here on unity on remembering that this is not just my faith. This is not

just my faith experience, but I'm called to be part of something bigger. I'm called to be part of

the body of Christ. And when we say the body of Christ, we're talking about the church, not the

building, but the people.

And this church which represents Christ on earth.

Paul starts here with as a prisoner for the Lord.

So he's really calling in some favors here.

He's saying, I want you to remember where I am.

I'm in prison.

I'm in prison because I've been preaching the gospel, including places like Ephesus.
