America loves a messy, sensationalized, drama-filled court case and trial.

It's one of the few things that can grab the attention of the majority of the American public,

regardless of age, gender, socioeconomic status, race, religious, or political affiliation.

Damn near everybody, it seems.

Can get lost in a really captivating high-stakes trial.

Or maybe you're convinced that the defendant is guilty

and you worry that that son of a bitch is going to walk free. Another reminder that justice

is definitely not always served. And another bit of your belief or the belief you'd like to have

that the world is, you know, just overall is going to get eroded a bit further. Or maybe you're

convinced the defendant is innocent

and you see yourself in them. You imagine how you would feel if you were being railroaded.

If you were worried that a group of people were conspiring to frame you, that if the jury got it

wrong, your life was going to be destroyed. Almost all your previous concerns will now be rendered

null and void, replaced by a tiny cell, apathetic guards, violent fellow inmates, and the soul-crushing monotony and hopelessness of a long stretch of prison life.

We've talked about a few big trials in previous subjects here before.

O.J. Simpson and the trial of the century, Casey Anthony, Jody Arias, Scott Peterson,

and Moore, cases that became so famous that they became a part of the cultural zeitgeist.

Today, we are covering another one of those types of cases. One I've had a bunch of friends

asked me about over the past few months. You know, when are you going to cover it? What do you

think about it?

Honestly, until this week, I 100% slept on this one. Maybe I read one article. I don't even think I did that.

If I did, I just quickly moved on. Clearly it didn't stick. I definitely didn't watch a single video,
