Hey everyone, we'll go back to the realignment. Today's episode is a pretty ride-ranging conversation with with the writer James Pogue.

James has written a bunch of really great pieces about the left and the right after 2016.

Back in 2022 he wrote a great piece on the new right and Vanity Fair linked in the show notes.

He then recently wrote a piece then about how people on the left like Connecticut

Senator Chris Murphy are thinking about the left

and the center left broadly after you know liberalism especially in the context of the

crisis of loneliness and the Crisis facing young men.

In this conversation we get into only of those pieces, but the overall state of American

politics through the lens of a political realignment, which is and is not playing

out in a bunch of different ways.

Lots of disagreement but also lots of agreement about this overall frame.
