Well, that's the original theme tune for Landward, BBC Scotland's Rural and Countryside Affairs programme.

Now, it's celebrating a very special birthday.

Believe it or not, the TV show has now been on air for 50 years.

It might be a slight exaggeration to say that the programme has featured every square inch of Scotland in that time, but the team has certainly covered

a vast array of stories from, well, all over the country and beyond. Recently, I caught up with one of the presenters, Arlene Stewart,

who told me how she felt when she was invited to join Landward.

It was interesting when I got the call from the series editor at the time, Simon Cousins,

because I'd made a pledge to myself that I wouldn't work in television

again because I always felt the focus was very much, especially as a woman, that the focus was

on how you looked, what clothes you were wearing, how your hair was. And I'm not that kind of girl

and I found it really stressful. So I decided, no, I'm not doing any more television. And then I got this call from Simon and he said, would you like to do Landward? And I thought, oh no, no, it's television. Oh no, no, no. I'm a radio person now. You can turn up wearing whatever you like. It's fine. But he convinced me to do four features on renewable energy and I thought, well that would be
