I'm Hughitt from Studio Beltway.

Dr. Mark Moyer is my guest this week on the Hillsdale Dialogue, and I'm very glad to

have him because in the last month, we went from the 250th anniversary of the Battle of

Lexington and Concord to the 80th anniversary of VE Day in Europe, and in between those,

was a 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon.

And I thought, you know, we jumped over that like a speed bump, and we ought not to.

Dr. Moyer is an expert in the Vietnam War.

His two books about the Vietnam War are among the most revered.

Triumph Foraken, the Vietnam War, 1954 to 1965, and Triumph Regained. That's the Vietnam War, 1965 to 1965, and triumph regained. That's the Vietnam War, 1965 to 1968.

Dr. Moyer teaches at Hillsdale, where he held as a chair in military history as a graduate of

Cambridge University where he has Ph.D. Dr. Moore, welcome. It's great to have you on.

Hey, great to be with you, Hugh. Did anyone bother to come up and talk to you when the 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon happened and say, let's go over what really happened here?

Well, not from the mainstream media or academia. We at Hillsdale did hold an event to commemorate it.

And it's an interesting event because a lot of the left has kind of tried to sweep it under the rug.

In fact, some of them basically made the last Vietnam event May of 73 or May of 23, the 5th anniversary there,

because that's when they left.
