Welcome to another episode of Kotaku's split screen. It's October 6th, 2016. My name is Kirk Hamilton, and this is our 50th episode. Happy 50th anniversary to us. In honor of that, Jason Schreier is not here today.

He is on sabbatical, and so our editor-in-chief, Stephen Totilla, will be filling in.

Stephen and I are going to spend most of the episode talking about PlayStation VR,

Sony's ambitious new VR headset, which we just reviewed and have spent the last week playing.

We will also answer a whole bunch of questions from Twitter that were sent in for

Stephen, and we'll discuss some of Gears of War IV's new Horde mode. I cannot believe we've done

50 episodes of this show. Take it away, Saxophone, Kirk.

Okay, and we are back for episode 50 of Kotaku's split screen. It's our 50th episode, and Jason isn't here. I am instead joined by Kotaku Editor-in-Chief Stephen Totillo. Hi, Steven.

Hi, Kirk. The Golden Anniversary. I'm excited. I'm honored.

Yeah, it's exciting. I think it's nice that we have you on here since you run the website that

enables us to have this podcast in the first place. I'm trying to run it. 50 episodes. I think

that's actually more like 55 episodes, if you small like one-offs about Game of Thrones or

E3 or something like that but that's still a pretty solid number it's more than I was expecting

us to do when we started this yeah Kotaku initiatives don't usually last an entire year we'll get a

great new idea for something and then it's impressive I give most of the credit to tenacious Jason Schreier for that.

If he's listening, he definitely provides a lot of the enthusiasm for this.

So before we get into too many things that we need to talk about, we have to take care of a

couple of a little bit of housekeeping at the beginning of the episode.
