So Monday Night Raw is arguably the most popular wrestling show in the world. It's been on air for over 30 years and man, we have seen the good and the bad. If you really want to, you can find periods that may be described as unwatchable. It's also been undeniably awesome and that is where we are at today. And here's a small spoiler. This is meant to be more of a modern look at the program so your personal favourites from yesterdayesteryear may have vanished. That doesn't mean they don't rule. It just means we're trying

to spread the love. Not a euphemism. So let's get comfortable, my friends, and sit down and have a

chat because my name is Simon Miller. And on behalf of what culture wrestling, it's the 50

greatest raw moments of all time through a somewhat modern lens. Number 50, CM Punk lashes out

March 3rd, 2025. See, right off the bat, let's get some new moments in there. Feels like it's

only fair. It was days removed, the John Cena heel turn, and the world was in shock. We all know

how it turned out, but the intrigue was huge right afterwards, so who better descend to the ring

to discuss this than one CM Punk.

Many said this was Triple-8 sending one of his soldiers to try and make sense of it all, because do not forget. Punk had been in the ring with Sina mere hours before this switch. It was the elimination chamber where Sina tapped out C.M. to win. Therefore, Punk went after the Rock and even called him a bored fraud, which as a bald guy wasn't totally on board with, and he accused John Cena of selling out. 20 years of being the good guy, and you just went and looked it. Even the commentators were lost for words and the real joy for CM Punk fans is that this was CM Punk. No matter what you thought of his WWE comeback, we'd been waiting to see this part of the individual

who could just eviscerate people on the microphone, even if you were a tippily top star. That's exactly what this was, too. He's one of a kind. I don't want to go as far as to call it a pipe bomb too, but it was heading in that direction. Number 49, Edge's birthday, October 30 of 2000. Now let us go the other way, because this is more niche, but it's a man that deserves some love.

Because throughout 2000, Edge Christian and Kurt Angle were having the time of their lives, as they were sort of in a position where they could do whatever the flub they wanted. That's why on this night as they celebrated the day of Birth 4, Edge, Angle went after Stephanie and McMahon, whereas Edge and Christian decided to introduce the kazoo as part of their promo arsenal.

It was all so stupid, especially when they started playing wrestler's entrance music on these instruments.

And Triple H was beside himself.

It was just good comedy, which WWE could not keep consistent throughout the attitude era,

and it made these guys beloved even though they were massive jerks.

Don't forget either, Edge and Christian were barely a tag team in terms of length, but it did not matter because they made the most of their time together. Soon after this, their good work would see them get elevated, which came with more creative red tape, but this episode of Raw was the zenith of their goofiness. Let's just put it simply, it was great. Number 48, Brom Breaker seized the vision, 21st of April 2025. I mean, just go and listen to the crowd response. I think there were a lot of questions after Seth Rhinens had sided with Paul Heyman at WrestleMania 1, and after Brom Breaker had lost his intercontinental title match. The big question was, what's next? Well, it was simple. There's Tate Breaker, and not only make him a Paul Heyman guy, which we'd all been on about since NXT, but why don't we have him take out Roman rains and CM Punk 2? Not for dinner. We'll forget about that now. You can't beat up two people higher than that. They didn't see the attack coming either, so it's not like they look dumb, whereas Seth, revealing Bron as his secret weapon, just served both guys, and it served the story. You always want the roar after WrestleMania to feel unpredictable and exciting, bingo. It sort of fell off after this, as was discussed, but as a way to kickstart new stories for the year, WWE hit our home run with this, it was awesome, and actually, aside from a few injuries, Bronbakers never looked back, he was born to do it. Number 47, the Shield reunites October 9, 2017. Really, this one should have been impossible. The core birth of Roman Rangers' tribal chief character was due to Seth Rollins betraying him back in the day, but hey, seeing the Shield reunite was great, and sometimes that wins out in wrestling. WWE had actually been patient about this too.

Well, no, but at least for them. It had been three years that the group broke up before they found each other again, and in that time they'd also fought each other. It just showed that while WWE could be lacking in ideas throughout the 2010s, this was not one of them. In fact, this one was brilliant. You also had Rollins being a good guy, but John Moxie refusing to forgive him because, yeah, this guy had been a right dick, when they found common ground because they had to fight the bar, and then they went on to win the tag team titles. That kind of made the whole thing worse for them because now the whole roster was out to get them, and given the same thing that was happening with Roman Reigns, and him constantly finding himself against three other wrestlers, well, there was only one thing to do. It's why when he was at his lowest, he needed somebody's help, and yep, on the roar before this one, just as he was about to get booted again, Seth and Dean were by his side, and then you got to the next week, boom, we stuck the landing. It all started when the Miz and his cronies refused to believe this was true, so the new shield went out there and murdered him.

He was the first guy to succumb to the shield Powerbomb 2 and go look at the fans.

They loved this, because of course they did.

It was very well executed.

Number 46, it snaps April 3rd, 1995.

Raw was two years old when essentially WWF came up with the WrestleMania concepts, or the fact that after the night of WrestleMania, maybe we could use Raw to really send a message.
