| 1:22.0 | One of these traditions for the Ortega family was to get everyone together on Christmas Eve. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins of all ages sit around eat a nice dinner, play some games, and maybe even bake cookies for Santa's arrival later that night, which is exactly what they did on Christmas Eve in 2008. |

| 2:28.0 | Instead, he pulls a gun out of the neatly wrapped present, points it directly at the eight year old's face, and pulls the trigger. |
| 2:38.0 | For the next few moments the house is in chaos. Family members are screaming, running, hiding under tables, trying to get away from the gunfire, but Santa runs through shooting at each and every person. |
| 2:53.0 | But that's not all he does. After murdering most of the Ortega family, he runs through the home with a flame thrower, destroying everything in his path. |
| 3:05.0 | Santa eventually leaves the home but several of the family members that made it out alive watch and whore as the home burns to the ground with nine people still inside. |
| 3:17.0 | And from that point forward, Christmas Eve and Covina, California would never be the same. This is the story of the Covina Christmas Massacre, in your listening to Murder in America. |
| 4:17.0 | Our story starts in Los Angeles, California on March 23rd, 1963, with the birth of Bruce Jeffery Parto. |
