Welcome to RealPod. It's your host, Victoria Garrick Brown, and this is the podcast where we hold nothing back.

0:11.4

Oh, so we're getting deep, huh? I really cried for 12 days straight.

0:15.9

Why do I want to be perfect? There's nothing in my life that is perfect.

0:19.2

Every week, I'll bring you honest, unfiltered,

0:22.0

and eye-opening conversations to help uncover the real in all of us. I crave the type of content

0:27.5

that you're talking about. I actually felt insecure. Oh my God, I'm not going to cry. Let me just

0:31.8

unload everything. New episodes every Wednesday. Leave those filters at the door because it's time to get real.

0:44.3

Welcome back to RealPod. This is Max, Victoria's husband. I can already tell you this. Two things about this episode real quick that are already BS. I'm not in the host chair.

1:29.6

Vic is in the host chair. I should be in that chair. And this episode's five years post-volveau. But really, it should be six. So I'm bad at that. Ashtrick against both those things. I was counting. And my last season was in 2018. But I graduated to college in 2019. So I guess I was like 2019, 20, 20, 20, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24. When I do that on my hand, I'm like, oh, that's five years. But that it's like... Good old Vic math. It's like that comes up literally every single time I'm in the pot of how you can't count. But when you do count that, and it's been six years since you were volleyball Vic, what does I feel like? It's wild. I feel like the idea for this episode came about just I just talked to one of the girls who's currently on the USC

volleyball team. I was like, damn, it's like been a while. Like that doesn't feel like it was

1:38.4

yesterday. It feels like a lifetime ago. I was on campus speaking in my old podcast class and I was like,

1:44.9

I literally said, I remember when Max drove his little scooter through here. Yeah, the razor

1:48.6

scooter. Yeah, I'm like, this is where this happened. But it doesn't feel recent. Like,

1:52.5

it literally feels like a long time ago. So wanted to reflect on how things have evolved, how her

1:57.4

business has evolved, the hidden opponent in her nonprofit, and the impact that

2:03.0

volleyball has had on that, which will be fun to dive into. I'm excited to dive into the volleyball

2:07.4

side because it just in this phase of life, we rarely ever talk about the volleyball. And all

2:12.2

the questions you gave me, too, a lot of these, I've never heard you answer. So it should be fun.

2:16.5

Yeah. So we might go all over the place, but I'm excited. Okay, I've never heard you answer. So it should be fun. Yeah. So we might go all over

2:18.3

the place, but I'm excited. Okay, sorry, I interrupted you host. I know for me at the four year mark,

2:23.7

or I guess five year mark, where then now you have not overlapped with any of the players on the
