Rarely does the NFL make such a drastic rule change that it could flip one segment of the league of the game on its head.

But that's exactly what the rules in terms of kickoffs might do

this upcoming season. After the lowest kick return rate in NFL history in 2023, we'll enter a

whole new world when it comes to special teams this season. And only one person was sick enough

to watch and chart all 400 plus kickoffs from the XFL that this rule was based on.

All the tricks, all the tools, and all the cool stuff that the people can experience and expect this upcoming season in the NFL.

Josh, I really appreciate you having me on, and you're right.

There were a lot of XFL kickoffs, but, you know, I figured it's a me on, and you're right, there were a lot of

XFL kickoffs, but, you know, I figured it's a good little break before getting back to

college football 25 gameplay. So kickoffs are important. You know, you guys watch a ton of film.

You guys do a great job breaking stuff down when you talk about it. Now we got more film to download

on the special team side. But Hey, don't you think that's true where we're just so accustomed to what a kickoff

looks like, what a punt looks like. So I'm excited because just reading through this column,

and by the way, it is linked in the description down below. I think it's really going to separate

the best kickers and also the best special teams coaches to determine how advantageous or disadvantage each team can be with this.

Yeah, that was kind of my takeaway. The NFL is trying to make this more entertaining,

but not every single NFL coach and team is going to nail this from week one.

So we're going to see some different strategies.

I think by the end of the year, there will be a consensus.

But as Sean kind of noted here, there are strategies on the return side and the kick side.
