This is Warrior Kid Podcast number five, Ask Uncle Jake.

And this podcast is based on the way of the Warrior Kid books.

And there's two of them, the first one, from Wimpy to Warrior, the Navy Seal way.

And the second one is called Mark's Mission.

And if you haven't read them, the books are about a young kid named Mark.

Who faces some problems, the same kind of problems that most kids face.

And he gets help solving those problems from his uncle named Uncle Jake,

who was a Navy Seal and who stays with Mark in the summertime.

And I made this podcast so that people could ask Uncle Jake some questions themselves

and then learn a little bit more from Uncle Jake.

So here we go.

The first question is, did you ever have any fear of public speaking?

Well, the answer to that is not really.

Public speaking was never something I was very scared of because in my family it was so loud

that if you weren't speaking up, no one listened.

So you had to be loud in my family.

But if you are scared of public speaking, you can overcome that fear the same way

that Mark overcame his fear of swimming in the first Warrior Kid book.

Start really small and go up from there.

So if you're scared of public speaking, what you do is you start off just by yourself talking loud.

And once you get used to that, give yourself, give a little speech.

And once you get used to that, then give a speech to just one person like your mom
