Hey everybody welcome back to the Catholic talk show we got a great show for you today

we're gonna be talking about Fat Tuesday Ash Wednesday and the liturgical season of

Lent. Yeah we're gonna talk about all the great foods that we get to eat on Fat Tuesday,

how we get to gorge on them. Then we're going to talk about the Penitential Day tomorrow

with Ash Wednesday and the ashes. We're going to talk about what Catholics have to do during Lent and the rules that surround that.

And we're going to talk about the really cool

medieval tradition of a 40-day beer-only fast during Lent.

Oh wow, now I've got to say that the only beads that matter to me today are these beads.

But I probably will get fat because it's Fat Tuesday. Alright guys, man, it's really awesome to be back in the studio with you this

Fat Tuesday. It's a fun day. It is a great day. I've always enjoyed Fat Tuesday.

I've never been to Marty Grozan and have you been in New Orleans at all?

I have been. I have. Oh no way. As a kid. Oh cool. I still have like a pillowcase

full of the balloons and beads. Oh wow. Yeah it just seems like an awesome parade and

party and celebration. So cultural. Even as a kid I had the sense that it was

pretty wild. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah., fat Tuesday man. What are you guys

fattening up on? You know I'm definitely going to be celebrating with some of my

brothers, my seminarian brothers and my priest brothers you know we're gonna have a good time. There you go. my Orleans and you know getting some jazz going the second line yeah man nice fun it'll be fun

well what I'm doing for Fat Tuesday is I'm making this show and that's what we're

going to do so now before we get into the episode. He's got some plans.
