TikTok owner BiteDance faces a deadline of Wednesday to divest its U.S. operations or face a U.S. shutdown.

U.S. officials told Reuters this morning that China misunderstood the U.S. position on TikTok

and that technical aspects

of divestiture had been worked out. It comes amid trade talks in Madrid between U.S. Secretary,

Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, U.S. trade representative Jameson Greer, and their Chinese

counterparts. South Korea's Kaspi Index climbed to a record high on its 10th straight session of gains.

That comes after the country's finance minister said that the government will scrap its previous plan to raise taxes on stock investments.

The CEO of Swatch says that the Swiss watchmaker will raise U.S. prices by 5 to 15%.

That move comes after President Trump imposed tariffs of 39% on Switzerland

last month. And overnight, China ruling that NVIDIA violated anti-monopoly laws in a preliminary

investigation. China's market regulator made that announcement in a one-sentence statement without elaborating.

Nvidia had previously disclosed that it was under investigation and that stock is down by about

2.4% this morning.
