J.P. Morgan says that it is launching a decade-long plan to help finance and take direct stakes in companies that it sees as crucial to U.S. interests.

Investment Bank Jeffrey says its exposure to bankrupt auto parts maker, First

Brands, is limited and that potential losses would, in its words, be readily affordable.

Jeffrey's shares fell last week after the firm disclosed one of its funds held more than

$700 million in receivables linked to first brands. That's stock this morning down by about 2.1%.

China's market regulator says Qualcomm has admitted that it did not tell the country

when it completed its acquisition of Israeli firm Autotox in June.

That came just a few days after China launched an antitrust investigation into Qualcomm.

Disney's Tron Ares are topping the weekend,

Tron Aries topping the weekend box office, earning about $33 million,

although that was below expectations.

And tributes are pouring in following the death of Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton

at the age of 79.

Among those weighing in on social media, Steve Martin, Francis Ford Coppola, and Bet Midler.

On Instagram, Coppola said she saw Keaton in the film Lovers and other strangers,

and then decided he wanted her to play the role of Kay and the Godfather.
