Hi, I'm Joe Kernan, co-host a swackbox, and this is five things to know before today's opening bell.

China opening a probe into Qualcomm for allegedly violating antitrust laws, according to the country's market regulator.

The investigation centers on Qualcomm's purchase in June of a vehicle technology

company called Auto Talks. Levi Strauss reporting results that were above estimates. Profits

are growing more than expected despite some higher costs from the tariffs, thanks to some targeted

price increases and a shift away from wholesalers. The shares,

though, trading lower this morning, but the stock had jumped more than 40% this year.

Reuters reporting that Ford is backtracking on a program that would have allowed dealers

to offer customers $7,500 tax credits on electric vehicles.

And CNBC is told that President Trump has met with Jared Isaacman to talk about another potential

nomination for the billionaire to lead NASA.

Isaacman was nominated in December, but that pick was later pulled.

And the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Maria Karina Machado.

She is Venezuela's opposition leader.

She won the prize for promoting democratic rights in Venezuela.

She's been in hiding for several months for fear of arrest.
