Personally speaking, I can't remember the last time I actually saw someone hitchhiking.

But when I ever do, my first thought, no matter what they look like, is that if I were

to pick them up, there's a good chance they're going to kill me.

I think that's because back in the day people hitchhiked all the time.

Just stick your hand out to a friendly passerby and they'll help you along your way.

And it worked for a while, until it didn't.

Because criminals realized that it was a really easy way to get their next target.

Whether they chose to get picked up or do the picking up,

pray was easy pickings.

And ultimately, we all learned that it wasn't a good idea to hitchhike, no matter what,

or where you were.
