The Book of Acts chronicles the rise of the early church in the years following Jesus' death,

resurrection, and ascension, offering us insights into how Jesus' first followers took the gospel to the very ends of the earth,

inviting both Jews and Gentiles to believe and find salvation in Christ.

And if you've ever read Acts before, you know there are some pretty amazing,

but at times confusing stories that sometimes leave us with questions.

What exactly happened at Pentecost, and why was that so important?

What was so bad about what Ananias and Sapphira did that led God to put them both to death?

What was up with Peter's vision of a bunch of animals on a sheet coming down from heaven?

And who was that Macedonian man who called DePaul in a dream and asked him to come to help him?

In today's interview, I'm sitting down with Nancy Guthrie to ask these questions and more

all about the Book of Acts.

Nancy is a Bible teacher who speaks at conferences and events throughout the U.S. and around

the world.

She's also the host of the Conversations on the Bible Podcast with Nancy Guthrie and the author

of numerous books,

including a new book with Crossway called Saved, Experiencing the Promise of the Book of Acts.

Well, Nancy, thank you so much for joining me again on the Crossway podcast.

So happy to be with you.

So today we're going to spend some time walking through some of maybe the most confusing or odd stories or scenes from the Book of Acts.

It's this incredible book of the Bible that is so foundational for who we are as the church, the people of God, and we see the story of Jesus extended beyond his actual earthly life and ministry.

But before we get into some of those really interesting stories, I wonder if you could help us orient a little bit around the book as a whole.
